Free conference planned for November 15 at Newark Museum

The Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Clinical Research Center (NJMS CRC) will sponsor In Conversation: Infinite Possibilities. It is a free event in collaboration with the Newark Museum and The Center for Transgender Health. Trailblazers contributing their stories include trans activist Tyra Gardner, Khloyei Chanel, and supermodel Tracey Africa Norman.

On Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 2-6 pm the community is invited to the Newark Museum at 45 Washington Street. The program is a part of Trans Awareness Week.

The free event will present stories from trans women in Newark. The stories will counter current narratives of oppression, discrimination, and tragedy and highlight narratives of resilience, creativity, and courage. The speakers will talk about their lives as transwomen in Newark.

Service providers include Health Educator Amina Washington from the African American Office of Gay Concerns, Dr. Keith of the Center for Transgender Health Clinic, and Dr. Dalla Piazza of the Infectious Disease Practice.

The programming is on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 2-6 pm at the Newark Museum, 45 Washington Street, Newark, NJ 07102. The program is free, but you must RSVP at EventBrite
